The "Pig" goes greener in 2010

Over the last two years the Flying Pig Marathon events have worked hard to be 'greener' and environmentally responsible. With your support and cooperation, 2010 was the greenest year yet! We gathered 2,360 pounds of compost that was collected by Brausch Farms-just part of the 1.8 tons of material from the weekend that were recycled. That's an increase of nearly a ton from last year's efforts! Also, you pitched in for those in need of shoes, donating more than 1,100 pairs of running shoes that were sent to Guatemala. We thank you for keeping the "Pig" green.

For those of you who took part in this year's "Pig," we want to thank everyone for making 2010 a record year. We had nearly 26,000 participants for the weekend, along with 4,000 volunteers, dozens of fire, police and emergency personnel who made sure everyone was safe, and thousands who lined the streets of Greater Cincinnati to cheer everyone on. We also want to thank our loyal sponsors, including P&G, Paycor, Cincinnati USA Regional Tourism Network, Asics, Walmart and the many others who made the "Pig" possible. Without your help, the weekend could not have been as successful as it was.
